The Davis Family

This was one of those shoots where I was given true freedom and one where they were completely themselves.

Alex is a phenomenal natural light photographer in Cincinnati so it was an honor to get to document this season for her and her family.

We drove out to their family farm, the same where they said their vows just a few years before and I mainly just let them wander. 

First, we caught the last of the golden light then piled into their old pickup, ran out and played under the tree they were married under, and ended with the most magical twilight.

Shooting at blue hour is sometimes more exciting to me now than golden hour or sunset.

The first reaction from Alex made my heart so happy—

“With tears in my eyes and laughter in my chest, I will be rolling through these for the rest of my life. The one of August smushed up against the window!? I almost spit out my wine. I’ve never felt so seen and beautiful before. Thank you over and over friend.”
