intimate garden wedding in salem, oregon

savannah and ricky, partners of 8 years were married in the gardens of a beautiful estate called deepwood in salem, oregon last july.

i have to take a min to brag on savannah - she is a beautiful soul and has incredible style + energy. for real, i had a girl crush on her. she was one of my most memorable brides. it could’ve also been her music taste, her fur she named after anderson cooper or her two unbelievable vintage dresses i got to photograph. oh, and did i mention she looks like an olsen twin (who i was/am still obsessed with).

but in all seriousness, her and ricky have a beautiful relationship and they wanted this day to be about celebrating that with their family and friends. it was a true party! they also had the best vegan cake i’ve ever had in my life from this bakery in portland. i dream about that cake.

below are some favorites from their day.

shoutout to my second shooter, bethany for joining me and creating a few of these images.

oregon coast elopement

oregon coast elopement

i can’t tell you how refreshing it was to hear kansas city locals, lexi + gage tell me they wanted to elope - not only that, along the oregon coast.

we had a slow morning with them starting with coffee and hangs at the beach house then headed into the woods to do their first look and finally, hiked God’s thumb for their beautiful sunset ceremony.

i worked with some incredible vendors on this one - allison, of bramble floral design killed it on lexi’s bouquet and crown. the colors matched the setting and her hair perfectly. also, check out the wedding film my friend, craig of watertown films made for them below.

lexi’s gown is rue de seine from bride kc.

lastly, you’ll be seeing these photographs again in print in the upcoming issue of rock n roll bride, so excited to have them in my hands soon!

where do i begin?

katie and andrew are two of the kindest souls you'll meet. i was so lucky to document this day and i am happy to get this wedding out into the world.

it was moody, outdoorsy, imperfect, wes anderson inspired and about halfway through we found the most magical patch of trees with this heavenly golden light just highlighting this forest beautifully. we parked the car, katie put on her tennis shoes and we booked it.

a huge thank you to my gal, sara for second shooting this with me.

introducing the winslow's - meet, katie and andrew.

the lim wedding pt II: praiano, italy

praiano, italy - the day of the wedding.

karen and chris were wed at the beautiful, modern casa angelina lifestyle hotel in praiano, italy. the florals were done the day of by the bride herself, the mood was so easy and relaxed, helping each other get ready. they had their first moments together in the magical courtyard of the hotel which was so lush and green.

their ceremony overlooked the water consisting of just a handful of us- no guests. after the wedding, we ended the day at the beach and watched the sunset.

amore eterno -

introducing, the lims .

the lim wedding pt I: positano and amalfi, italy

it's hard to describe the beauty that we witnessed on the amalfi coast in italy this past october. karen and chris asked me to photograph their elopement in this amazing place and i am so honored and thankful to have been a part of it.

the first few days, we stayed in the town of positano which is like the hawaii of italy. there were so many firsts! while there, we walked the cobblestone streets, tried gelato, took a ferry to the wonderful town of amalfi where we visited the duomo di amalfi, had pizza from an adorable local italian woman at the deli and most importantly, positano is the city where karen and chris had their first look.

karen and chris got ready at the most beautiful boutique hotel, le sirenusè. when chris first saw his bride, it was in the square of the gorgeous, chiesa di santa maria assunta.

this is part I of our adventure together.

the gypsy + the musician. amanda and paul's magical wedding weekend in arcadia, mi

the gypsy marries the musician.

i took a ceramics class with amanda my last summer before graduating college, which is where i discovered how inspiring and magnetic she is. she's an amazing installation artist, adventurer, dreamer; a good hearted north carolina native. she met paul on a dating site and once he flew to denmark to meet her in real time, they knew.

i've never photographed a wedding where i felt so at home. amanda and paul invited me to stay in one of the cottages at watervale inn along with all of their closest friends + family. a tiny, colorful village right on the water. they had guests coming in from all around the world to celebrate the two of them. everywhere from australia, denmark, uk, canada, berlin, nc, + more. these two are loved.

there was a bbq the first day, a bonfire on the beach that night, hiking, swimming, porch-hanging. everything you could ever want while celebrating one of your favorite couples. there were so many great moments, but i'll let these photographs show you how that weekend in september played out.

amanda and paul, thank you for allowing me to document your day. i can't wait for you to re-live this.
